I am a 7 year breast cancer survivor, single parent, psychologist and a girl who almost always lands on her feet. This blog was born of the desire to help women navigate the emotional experience, trauma and grief that is breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. With the eye of a trauma professional combined with the humor and compassion of someone who has walked a mile in the pink shoes, I hope to inspire; to be a place where women find a name for what it is they are feeling inside, and a road map for healing as they continue onward in life.
I offer coaching via skype for women who are going through cancer treatment, and who are needing help navigating the emotional aftermath of treatment. Contact me for more information.

Wow!! Beautiful! Not only can one learn how to deal with a breast cancer diagnosis, but those of us on the outside can learn how to react (or not).
thank you so much!
Lauren

Yea!! I’ve been looking for a blog just like this to show me the ropes, and here you are. Yea! Beautiful writing, amazing attitude. Can’t wait to read more. Your portrayal of Colton made me tear up, and I’m not a crier!
Thank you Nancy, he makes me cry sometimes too, but i am a crier 🙂 Hope I can show you some ropes too
Contests on the guest blog gig, happy birthday, and thanks for adding my little blog to your site. 🙂

thanks wendy.. welcome aboard girlfriend!
I just love your blog – I would comment on each posting as they are so original, pertinent and make me laugh and cry at the same time.
I have just read your posting about thigh cancer – my goodness, I can relate so much to it (having had three similar bouts of “cancer” last week).
Keep writing!
Hugs

Lauren,
It’s great to meet you and find your blog. Five years out of cancer is far enough to diminish the fear but not so far that the unintentionally harrowing & sometimes hilarious details or lost. One of these days we’ll have a long talk about thigh cancer….yeah, I though I had a lump in my thigh….yep:) Been there!
I look forward to reading more.
All good things,
Jody
Thank you so much Jody, welcome aboard!
Lauren
Love your blog. I am also a breast cancer survivor and loved the Klunker post!
Thank you so much for the nice compliment! Klunkers are something else all of us have in common, and we thought it was just cancer 🙂
I post a new blog every sunday morning, thanks for joining in.
Lauren
I accidentally happened upon your blog, thanks to the fateful “salt water” quote! My bff has joined the ranks of The Surviving since diagnosis last month, and I’m trying to figure out how to be a good support for her. Eager to see whatever ropes your blog has to show and maybe, once I get the courage, to pass the blog link on to her (not sure how she’d feel about it).
Thanks for sharing your journey!
thank you, so hope it helps you and your friend, and feel free to share when the time is right!

Awesome Blog, Lauren! I I am an ARNP in Fl who works with breast cancer patients. I have created a website called http://www.mybreastcanceranswers.com in response to seeing what my patients were lacking. It is easy to read yet factual info with printable checklists to help women know what to ask at dr appointments. I also have a nice chat forum, latest news in breast cancer, and a blog about topics many of my patients wish to know about. I have often said we cut out the cancer and treat the patient but we do nothing for the mind or spirit. I would love to find psychologists in my area that specialize in cancer survivors but have not had much luck. Great to meet you!
Your Friend,
Heather Flanagan, ARNP
